Winds and repairs armatures, field coils, etc. of motor and dynamos.  Diemantles motor and removes armature to examine and test for continuity.  Locates and rectifies faults.  May wind coils by hand or on machines into slots of armature cores.  Impregnates armature and coils in the impregnation plant to insulate them.

Operates boilers to generate steam of required pressure by controlling and adjusting water feed, draught, evaporation, fire, etc., for heat or power. Operates supply valves and ensures that steam is supplied to engine room at prescribed pressure. Maintains water level and steam pressure as prescribed.

Installs, erects and changes layout of machines, equipments and components in ship and workshops.

Plater

Shapes and finishes plates by rolling,  bending of structural work.  Sets and starts rolling and bending machines, feeds already marked plates one by one and rolls them to required shapes.  Forms plates according to specifications and bending machine for fire box, water reservoir, ship structure, etc.

Sail Maker

Lays out thick cloth, canvas and like materials, fabricates and assembles them into sails (shamiana) and tarpaulins.  May also undertake upholstery work.

Boat Builder

Constructs and repairs boats, launches, dredgers, barges, etc. according to prescribed specifications by various carpentry processes.  May construct wooden accessory for boats such as engine foundation templates, ribs, etc.

Tests and repairs valves, slack adjuster, roller bearing vacuum cylinder, etc.

Fitter Loco

Repairs locomotives and sets them to working condition according to instructions and guidance of loco foreman.  May keep record of parts examined and equipment performance.  May specialise in the fitting and repairs of steam or diesel engines.

Lifter

Lifts and coaches and wagons with the help of screw jacks for carrying out the repairs of under frames and bogies.

Power Hammer Operator

Assembles different cycle components and parts to make complete bicycle.  Examines and tests assembled units and cycle for correct alignment.  Oils and greases important friction points.

Assembles fuselage tail wings under carriage, fuel  tanks, doors, etc.  and installs plumbing pulley, pulley brackets and other air frames structural members according to approved schedules, may replace, repair and modify passenger galley and toilet, structural parts, maintain record of parts examined and rivette parts together.

Radio and Radar Mechanic

Tests, repairs, services and maintains aircraft radio receiving and transmitting sets in accordance with diagrams and prescribed specifications using hand tools and electrical measuring instruments.  Also does programming of different channels on the mixing boxes.

MANUFACTURE OF REFRIGERATORS AND AIR CONDITIONERS

Inspects and tests components and final product in factory or institution using various testing and measuring equipment and ensure that the components and final products confirm to specified standards.

Installs and repair refrigerators and air conditioners by replacing defective parts, re-seating valves, re-fitting coils, insulating, requiring electrical connections, soldering, etc.  Examines faulty equipment to ascertain nature and location of defects and replaces defective parts.
